Proposal to close streets to vehicular traffic
Westland Rally 2026
Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of the Westland Rally 2026, the Westland District Council proposes to close the following streets to ordinary vehicular traffic, as indicated hereunder.
Old Christchurch Road – Kumara – Otira Highway to Duffers Creek Road
Adairs Road – Rimu – 129 Adairs Rd to Woodstock Rimu Road
Dorothy Falls Rd – Kaniere – Hans Bay to Styx Bridge
Saturday 28th March 09:00 AM – 05:30 PM.
During the proposed period of closure, access will be provided in an emergency.
Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge their objection and the grounds thereof in writing before Friday, 27th February 2026, at the office of the Westland District Council, 36 Weld Street, Hokitika.
