Hokitika Swimming pool preparing to reopen

Media release: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Refurbishment of the changing area and reception at the Hokitika Swimming Pool is nearing completion. The remaining work will be completed ready to reopen on Saturday 6 April.

“We think that users of the facility will be very happy with the upgrades,” says Westland District Council Chief Executive Simon Bastion. “They make the whole place feel much more modern and welcoming. We are very pleased to have completed this work so that the pool will be open for the upcoming school holidays.”

Destination Westland Chief Executive Melanie Anderson says, “Staff at the swimming pool are excited to welcome our patrons back and to show off the refurbishment. Obviously, some parts of the work aren’t visible to the public, like the pump room, but taken as a whole the visitor experience is just going to be so much better.”

The swimming pool remains closed until 9am on Saturday 6 April for the work to be completed.
