As you may be aware, the Council’s YouTube channel hosted a recording of the “Meet the Candidates” event that was held at the Regent Theatre in Hokitika on 16 September 2025.
That recording was temporarily removed from the Council’s YouTube channel while it considered concerns that had been raised with it regarding the content of that recording.
Having considered those concerns, the Council has now reinstated the recording - Meet the Candidates 2025
The Council does not intend to take any further steps or provide any further comment while the election is ongoing.
