Trialling of the new Ultra-Violet (UV) skid, filter screens and other componentry starts at the Hari Hari Water Treatment Plant today and will be on-going over the next week.Â
The boil water notice remains in place due to the dropping out of the UV treatment phase. There has been no infractions in water quality or health concerns while the work is underway.
A few working days are required once the trial is underway to get consistent lab test results to monitor that the new system is functioning correctly. The Council anticipates that the precautionary boil water notice will be lifted early next week.
This operation was a programmed and planned upgrade that was brought forward from next financial year, due to breakdown in old equipment and lack of available replacement parts.
