Council would like to thank members of the Ross community for their efforts to conserve water. Ross is currently on a Level 2 Water Alert which means Water on alternate days as the water supply is under considerable pressure and large water savings are necessary. Households are reminded that hoses, sprinklers and garden irrigation systems can only be used on alternate days (even street numbers on even days; odd street numbers on odd days).
The cause of the conserve water notice is the Jones Creek water intake was blocked by debris and rocks during the December storm event. This has been further impacted by the storm on 21 February. Jones Creek is a difficult area for workers to reach with equipment to clear the blockage, however a plan has been put in place and Council expects work will take up to four weeks to complete. Water conservation measures will remain in place during this time.
