Background

Following review under the Local Government Act 2002, the Westland District Council proposes a range of amendments to 9 of its 10 existing bylaws, including a new Alcohol Control Bylaw to replace the existing Liquor Bans Bylaw. In addition, it proposes reinstatement of the lapsed Waste Water Bylaw. It also proposes a revised Policy on Dogs to reflect the proposed changes to the Do Control Bylaw. A Statement of Proposal, submission forms and copies of all the proposed documents are available on this page.

The Council, under the Special Consultative Procedure of Section 83 of the Local Government Act 2002, invites submissions on the reviewed / reinstated bylaws and policy, the other options that have been considered, and on any aspect of, or omission from these bylaws and policy.

Closing date

The closing date for submissions is June 15th 2018, 5pm.

Once the submission period is closed, Council will notify submitters who wish to speak of the date and time at which the Council hearing will be held.
