Traffic on Railway Terrace to be rerouted

MEDIA RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vehicles exiting Railway Terrace will now be directed to exit directly onto Weld Street, following a decision by Council to reroute the traffic.

Transportation Manager, Karl Jackson advises, “The current traffic routing, with cars entering Railway Terrace from Weld Street creates an increased risk for drivers because of the location of the railway crossing. From a safety point of view, drivers are better to enter Weld Street towards the railway crossing, than to sit and wait to enter Railway Terrace so close to the crossing.”

Council will amend the Traffic and Parking Bylaw 2013 to register the change of entry and exit to Railway Terrace. The change will take effect from the end of January.
