Council Engineers and our Maintenance Contractor have carried out a detailed investigation of the major storm damage on Jackson River Road. The first 7km to Lake Ellery Bridge is now open. Beyond that the road remains closed due to continued safety issues. Four areas of the road have been significantly compromised and are not accessible.
Staff are working to identify options and costs to repair the road to a useable standard. There is no timeframe for reopening the road as any repairs are subject to approval of funding.
