The subcommittee received a verbal update from Simon Bastion, Chief Executive.

A discussion document will be developed with the intention to undertake a Special Consultative Process with the public in the lead up to the Long Term Plan 2021 – 31. Need to be aware that what happens with the Racecourse may affect other parcels of land in the area.

Hokitika Swimming Pool users will have to wait a little while longer to start using the pool again following the annual shut-down for maintenance and the Covid-19 lockdown.

Media Release: Cycle trail thefts

Thieves put cycle trail users at risk

 

An unusual theft has occurred on the West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail south of Ruatapu. After a report from the public, an inspection found that stainless steel fixings from the Rocky Creek and Camp Creek Cycle Trail bridges have been taken. Along with the bolts, washers and nuts, six lengths of safety barrier timber have also been removed from the Ross end of Camp Creek bridge.
