Proposed road closures

 

PROPOSAL TO CLOSE STREETS TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

Totara Valley Road

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of waterway repairs, the Westland District Council proposes to close the following road to ordinary vehicular traffic indicated hereunder.

Totara Valley Road

Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 June 2020 7am until 5pm

During the proposed period of closure access will be provided in an emergency.

Council’s decisions on the Draft Annual Plan 2020/2021

Council yesterday, 16 June, heard from 15 submitters to the Draft Annual Plan 2020/2021 on a variety of topics contained within the Consultation Document and submissions.

Following serious questioning and debate Council agreed to make the following amendments to the Draft Annual Plan, which will be adopted at an Extraordinary Meeting on 30 June 2020:

Westland Cultural Heritage Tourism Project

Jackie Gurden spoke to the presentation.

The project is in three parts, two in Hokitika and one in Ross. They will work with groups on funding applications and the Council’s Hokitika CBD plan.
