FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Swimming pool development underway

Hokitika Swimming Pool is closing temporarily on Monday 7 June 2021 for contractors to begin the first stage of the new development. Work on the initial stage of the development is expected to take around four months, with reopening dates to be advised as work progresses.

Destination Westland Ltd’s Chief Executive, Melanie Anderson says, “We are excited to provide our swimming pool users with upgraded facilities. Our team are extremely proud of the pool and the work that we do and really appreciate users’ patience while the work is being done. Once the work is completed we expect users’ experience to be much better; with upgraded core infrastructure systems. Upgrading the heating and ventilation will greatly improve the whole pool environment. Work will start on Stage 2 of the project next winter, which will see new changing facilities and front of house.”
