FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Changes on Board of Destination Westland

As Westland Holdings Limited (WHL) works through the impacts of Covid-19 on the business, Council was today informed of changes on the Board of the Destination Westland group.

“We are very sorry to announce that Bruce Gemmell and Ian Hustwick have stepped down from their roles as Directors on the Destination Westland Board. They have not made the decision lightly, but this will reduce costs,” says Joanne Conroy, Chair of WHL. “The Board of WHL would like to thank them for their service to Destination Westland and the work that they have done. We wish them well for the future. Chris Rea and myself are taking their places on the Board, ensuring that Destination Westland continues to have a full Board so that decisions can be made.”

Ms Conroy advises that Covid-19 has had a major impact on most of the activities of Destination Westland, except for Elderly Housing. The majority of the work that Destination Westland does involves the tourism sector, which is facing a very uncertain time. WHL will continue to work closely with Council to assess the impacts of the Covid-19 situation on Destination Westland and the business going forward.
