Collection Days
Refuse Bag and Recycling Collection:
During the week commencing 5 July 2010 and fortnightly thereafter, the official refuse bag collection will be undertaken on the following days:
| Tuesday | Hampden Street – South & Kaniere |
| Wednesday | Hampden Street – North |
| Thursday | South of Hokitika including Ross |
| Friday | North of Hokitika – Brickfield including Kumara |
This is the same day of the week as the recycling bin collection, which will continue to occur in the alternate weeks to the refuse bag collection.

Please have your refuse bags or recycling bins at the kerbside by 8.00 am on collection day.
DO NOT put refuse bags out the night before, as cats and dogs get into them
DO NOT overload your refuse bags as there is a 15kg weight limit per bag.
Remember, the materials you put out for recycling are handled by people, not machines. Please be considerate:
- no hazardous or injurious materials
- if in doubt, leave it out!
Public Holidays:
The following Public Holidays DO NOT have refuse and recycling collection:
- Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Monday and Good Friday
- New Years Day, Labour Day
- Anzac Day, Waitangi Day, Anniversary Day
