Fly Tipping

Also known as illegal dumping, this is illegal disposal of waste down a bank, into the bush, off a bridge or onto a beach. It is illegal.

Where members of the public provide information, or we can find evidence of identity, we will act to prosecute the person responsible. The Litter Act has been amended to increase the level of fines for this type of offending.

We provide a variety of waste disposal facilities so there is no excuse for this behaviour. It costs the District thousands of dollars every year cleaning up this mess.

DON'T DO IT!

Council reserves the right to issue infringements for illegal dumping which may result in an instant fine of $400.00.
